Cong. Bobby Rush Congressional Military Academy Day
Date:10/06/2017Time:9am - 12noon
Location: Gary Comer Youth Center, 7200 S. Ingleside

FROM U.S. CONGRESSMAN BOBBY RUSH:

It is my pleasure to invite you and your family to my First Congressional District Military Academy Day . It will take place on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Gary Comer Youth Center, 7200 South Ingleside Avenue in Chicago. I am hosting this event to ensure students and parents in my District are informed about the tremendous educational opportunity that exists at the United States Service Academies.

There are five service academies for students to consider. They are the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. If selected as a service academy cadet, students receive a first-class education and a four-year scholarship, graduating as a commissioned officer ready for military service.

The admission process is very competitive with some of the nation’s best and brightest seeking admittance. I want to make sure our students have all the information they need to compete successfully. So, each academy will have a representative in attendance who will offer insight into the admissions process and unique academic life. You will also have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one discussion with them.

I hope you and your family will attend. You may RSVP for the event by sending an e-mail confirmation to www.congressmanrushdistrictevents@mail.house.gov and type in the body of the e-mail, Military Academy Day. You can also call my office at 773-779-2400. My staff contact is Mr. James Teague. Please contact him with any questions or concerns.
